Women in the episcopate: a new way forward

GRAS Response to General Synod GS MISC 1042

 

GRAS supports the suggestion of the simplest possible legislative package , making all three orders of ministry open equally to men and women, repealing the 1993 Measure and rescinding the 1993 Act of Synod.

All provision for those whose theological conviction does not allow them to receive the ministry of women priests and/or bishops would be made on a voluntary and therefore unenforceable basis.

GRAS supports the embodiment of the principle that there should be more trust and less law.
